Field Instinct stamps the date, the weather, and a note you write onto your own photographs. It has no accounts, no servers of ours, and no analytics.
Intelligent Host LLC does not collect, store, or have access to your photographs, your notes, your location, or any identifier. There is no backend to send them to.
One thing: an approximate location, sent to Apple’s weather service.
To write the weather onto a photo, the app has to ask what the weather was where the photo was taken. It asks Apple’s WeatherKit service.
If you decline the location permission, the app keeps working. The stamp simply has no weather line.
Field Instinct only ever adds to a photograph.
| Permission | Why | When |
|---|---|---|
| Camera | Taking the photograph | First launch |
| Location (approximate) |
Looking up the weather for the stamp | Only when you first ask for weather, or take your first photo — never at launch |
| Photo library (add only) |
Saving a stamped copy. The app cannot read or browse your library | First time you save |
| Microphone and Speech Recognition |
Speaking a note instead of typing it. Processed on the device | First time you hold the microphone button |
You can withdraw any of these in iOS Settings at any time. The app degrades rather than breaks: without location there is no weather line, without the photo library the photos still save to Files, and without the microphone you can still type.
Field Instinct is not directed at children and collects nothing from anyone, of any age.
Everything the app holds lives on your device. Deleting the app removes the pending queue, your saved notes, and your settings. Photos you have already exported to Files or to Photos are yours and stay where you put them.
If this policy changes, the effective date above changes with it. Because the app has no servers, a change here can only ever describe what a new version of the app does — it cannot apply retroactively to data, since none was ever collected.
